Betty White’s Big Day

7 May

Betty White’s heyday was a few years ago but she is definitely having somewhat of a revival. With her hilarious, boob grabbing part in The Proposal to her down and dirty Snickers commercial:

As most of you know, she will be hosting Saturday Night Live on Saturday (May 8th). Which marks the Emmy award-winning actress and game show host’s first appearance. I will definitely be DVRing the show to watch it later. She also has more going on tomorrow!

As I told you on Monday, GSN (Game Show Network) has finally arrived on Bright House and they will be hosting a “No Match for Betty Match Game Marathon” before her SNL. Tune in from 9am to 4pm to see the best of Betty White on Match Game!

Game Show Network

3 May

FINALLY! Bright House has FINALLY added the Game Show Network to its cable lineup!!!! Took them long enough.

The network has been around since 1994. So yea, it only took Bright House 16 years. No big deal!

I remember watching this channel on my parents old Dish Network and I LOVED it.

During the day the mainly show 1970’s and 80’s era game shows. Match GameThe $25,000 Pyramid, Family Feud and The Newlywed Game. At night the show more current programming, including some of their own shows. You will see Deal or No Deal reruns, LINGO or catch Jerry Springer’s new dating show Baggage. My favorite old show (that they have also made a new version) is Press Your Luck!

Baggage is a dating show that revolves around the contestants baggage. Get it? They have giant briefcases (a la Deal or No Deal) that carry their baggage. Like how likely they are to cheat, that they can’t get a credit card or that they used to be gay. Fun stuff like that!

All game shows, all the time! How awesome is that!!!!

Glee…Season Two

19 Apr

So, I wrote about Glee last year and I liked it but I didn’t write anymore about it through the first season. The main reason was because the show kinda sucked. Sure there were some good “show choir” renditions of popular songs and classics with Jane Lynch making me crack up every time she opened Sue Sylvester’s mouth but that was it. The actual show was the same thing every week. From the second episode you knew exactly what was going to happen in their plot lines. But I know they had to play it safe and, as expected, they wrapped everything up nice and neat in the last episode.

Booty Pop

10 Mar

This may not be a new product, but it is new to me. While watching a Guilty Pleasure TV show I saw a commercial for Booty Pop Panties!

These are panties with “implants” in them to make your butt bigger or “pop.”

Do you think the make them in men’s styles?

And don’t forget about your FREE Panda Express today!!!

Guilty Pleasure?

5 Mar

Most days when I have free time in the afternoon I watch TV, or at least have it on in the background while I do something like blog. Much of the time I’m watching CW18 and there multiple hours of the lowest type of TV programming.

Maury, Cheaters and Jerry Springer. Maury is always paternity tests or lie detector tests nowadays. Cheaters is pretty obvious and Jerry Springer is back to his good ol’ trailer park trash ways.

I could watch sports, news or just about anything (I have all the channels) but day after day I watch this stuff. It makes me laugh, but today I got to thinking that maybe I should be more mature than this. These shows have become a little guilty pleasure for me!

So I decided to put it up to you guys. Should I “grow up” and stop watching this stuff and instead become more informed about the world and current events?

Mmmmm…Pancakes…

4 Mar

So, I saw this video on a favorite blog of mine Serious Eats and found it too amazing to pass up.

This is a commercial for IHOP (International House of Pancakes) from 1969. Judging by this commercial I would say that IHOP was looking to draw in some customers who may or may not have enjoyed some illicit drugs.

“Of course it says pancakes on the outside but there’s a lot more on the inside.” <–Now that is an understatement.

Art imitates Art?

22 Jul

If you can call a Food Network show art that is…

NSFW language in the following video:

That song is from the movie “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.”

Now, 10 years later Brian Boitano is making a comeback. He is going to star in his own Food Network TV show, “What Would Briant Boitano Make.”

I’m not kidding. I can’t make this shit up it is so funny! The show’s logo even has the “DO” just crossed off.

Brian Boitano has skated in the past to the song from South Park, so I’m assuming he is a fan. But A.) Why is he doing a cooking show? and B.) Why would Food Network want to reference a rather raunchy song on their network?

I’ll be DVR-ing it…just for the name!

Glee Series Premiere

22 May

Yes, I ranted about missing this show on Tuesday night due to the American Idol over run. Thanks to Hulu I was able to watch the whole show with a single short commercial at the beginning! If you also missed it, go here to watch the episode!
