Glee…Season Two

19 Apr

So, I wrote about Glee last year and I liked it but I didn’t write anymore about it through the first season. The main reason was because the show kinda sucked. Sure there were some good “show choir” renditions of popular songs and classics with Jane Lynch making me crack up every time she opened Sue Sylvester’s mouth but that was it. The actual show was the same thing every week. From the second episode you knew exactly what was going to happen in their plot lines. But I know they had to play it safe and, as expected, they wrapped everything up nice and neat in the last episode.

Best Valentine’s Day Present EVER!!!

6 Apr

So, my amazing girlfriend got me the best Valentine’s Day present ever and I received it yesterday!

Due to back-orders and them canceling the order it is a few months late BUT it is SOOO worth the wait!

As I told you before I’ve been reading the Dexter books. I’ve read ALL four of them and I’ve seen every episode of the Showtime show. I love me some Dexter.

The BOX!

Ben Folds and a Piano

18 Mar

On Tuesday night JC and I went to the House of Blues at Downtown Disney to see Ben Folds and a Piano. This was my first time seeing Ben Folds live and I will say up front…it was awesome! We found out about the concert only last week and I drove over to the HOB box office and saved about $10 a ticket in crappy Ticketmaster/Live Nation fees. How can you charge me to use my own paper and ink to print the ticket? But I digress…

Our tickets!

The Five People You Meet In Porn

19 May

This year the Greater Orlando Actors Theatre is putting on “The 5 People You Meet In Porn” at the Orlando International Fringe Festival! I had the pleasure of seeing this show Friday night for their opening performance and have struggled with what to write about. I did enjoy the show, but I’m fairly certain that most of my readers will not be wanting to go see it.

Better Off Ted on ABC

15 Apr

I have just this past weekend caught up on my DVR’d episodes of ABC’s new comedy, Better Off Ted and have decided that I must share this with the world! I LOVE this show. The writing is creative, the characters are interesting and the humor has caused me to LITERALLY LOL every episode.

The show is a comedy, obviously, that follows Ted who is the head of R&D at Veridian Dynamics. Veridian Dynamics is portrayed as the standard gigantic American corporation with no real feelings about its employees. They even have a “day care” program where they are “training the workers of tomorrow,” literally, they are! They have kids as janitors walking around the office and kids as scientists mixing stuff in test tubes!

Ted’s boss, Veronica, is hilarious. She manages to not care about anything or anyone and show very little emotion. In the second episode she used Ted’s daughter, Rose, to fire someone because she realized that Rose’s 7-year old presence kept people’s emotions in check in those type situations.

Rose is probably my favorite character in the show. She has some of the smartest lines written for her, but she doesn’t sound like she is older than 7, the lines are just creative enough to accurately portray the smart, innocent point of view of a 7-year old. Kids don’t have all the filters that we have learned over the years and manage to cut straight through the BS, and the show does that very well!

Better Off Ted is on ABC at 8:30pm Eastern (just after Scrubs) Wednesdays (that is tonight!) and I think you should check it out! If you want to catch up on the first few episodes visit ABC’s site here and click “Watch Free Episodes.” WARNING: Clicking the link I posted brings you to a site with an auto-play clip. A VERY funny clip from last week’s discrimination episode, but I will warn you that you might want to click pause quickly if you are at work or something.

MC Hammer at Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras

5 Apr

Last night I went to Universal Studio’s Mardi Gras for the second time this year, this time to see MC Hammer. Yes, MC Hammer! Prior to the show I was using YouTube to listen to some of his stuff because to be honest, I only knew of two of his songs.

The stage looks pretty bare...

The stage looks pretty bare...

I was looking forward to a little bit of nostalgia and to hear some good music. I mean, I wasn’t a fan of Miranda Lambert but I enjoyed her concert!

Unfortunately, this concert was a train wreck.

Don’t Piss Off Jon Stewart

6 Mar

I would not recommend pissing off Jon Stewart by canceling last minute on his show, The Daily Show. If  you do, he may spend over 8 minutes calling out your entire network, enjoy:

Jeff Dunham TONIGHT!

12 Dec

Yes, it has finally come! Tonight is the night that my family and I are going to see Jeff Dunham and his cast of characters at the Silver Spurs Arena (at Osceola Heritage Park). This will be my second time seeing Jeff Dunham live, the first was in a much more intimate setting at the, now closed, Orlando Improv.

Just to make you jealous I will post a few videos here! Be sure to check the last video as it is two of the funniest bloopers ever, both from the extras on the “Arguing With Myself” DVD.
