It is true! I made it back from my AMAZING roller coaster vacation!!!

Unfortunately I’ve been really busy with laundry (still have a ton to do) and working to catch up on my time off so I have had a hard time getting through all of the pictures that we took and get some blog posts written.

I did want to put a post up to say that I had a blast and I hope you will stick around to when I can actually get the time to write about the trip and show off some of the cool photos!!

Today we will be waking up early in Williamsburg, VA for our day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg Europe Williamsburg (They keep changing what they call it back and forth, very annoying). This will be my first visit to this Busch Gardens park!

My mom and I are Platinum Passholders for the Busch parks so we get to park and visit this park for free! WOO HOO! I’ve seen and heard about how amazing this park is themed and how great some of the coasters are, so I’m excited about this park. This will be our fourth and final theme park on this vacation!

To make today even better, I found that Busch offers a Behind The Scenes: Roller Coaster Experience tour!! We have our tickets to it, and it is going to kick ass!

The tour includes a ride up an elevator to the top of Griffon’s lift hill (205 feet in the air) for some photo opportunities! ERT (Extra Ride Time) on three coasters is also included.

Tomorrow we will heading back to Central Florida to end the trip! Sad times, but I look forward to sharing photos and reports from all of our stops!

Recently I have seen four or five of these videos. It is a clip from a movie with Hitler going crazy and doing a lot of yelling and screaming. The different YouTube videos give the clip funny subtitles. This one is about the changed Disney has done to EPCOT (or Epcot) recently.

Yup, last year we went to Cedar Point and this year we are making a return trip to “America’s Roller Coast.” Sandusky awaits us again and this time we are setting aside even more time at this roller coaster mecca!

Our plan will be to have arrived yesterday afternoon and after settling in to our cabin on the point (yes really!) we hopefully will spend a few hours after 5pm to get the blood flowing.

We are staying at Cedar Point’s own Lighthouse Point. These cottages are right on the “beach” of Lake Eerie and in the shadow of the coasters!

We will be able to easily walk over to the park for our stay! These cabins have grills and fridges and seat up to six!

This should be comfortable accommodations for the three days we will be here! We plan on stocking up on some food stuffs to save some money (and our waistlines) during this stop on our trip.

I really look forward to this stop. The coasters again and the cottage looks amazing! Look forward to my trip report on this!

So…yea. I’m still on vacation. Today we will be driving from Cincinnati up to Sandusky to go to Cedar Point. It should be a lazy day and we’ll probably use our  Starlight passes (that we got for staying on property) to visit the park tonight after 5pm. Tomorrow I’ll have a post with more information on what we will be doing the next few days.

We will be spending tonight plus all day tomorrow and Thursday at Cedar Point! For now check out this Lego video I found of  “Weird Al’s” parody of an Avril song!

Today we will be visiting park two of our trip!

You may remember that we planned on going to Kings Island on the way home from Cedar Point last year, but when plans changed, Kings Island was dropped.

That actually worked out since it made it a must see this year, and this year they opened a new coaster that looks amazing! DIAMONDBACK!

Diamondback is so amazing, it has its own website!

Another ride I’m looking forward to is Invertigo. In this ride, you sit facing other riders and go forward and backward! Something I’ve never experienced, so it should be fun!

This park is owned and operated by Cedar Fair (who also own Cedar Point) so it should be a good day of roller coaster-ing! This is another park that I’ve never visited before, so it will be great!

One ride that I will be dissappointed with missing is Son of Beast. The ride is closed because someone got hurt or something on it this year. This ride was also recently neutered! It used to be the only wooden coaster with an inversion! They removed that after an accident however.

The Beast, which is the world’s longest coaster (7,400 feet!), should be operating and will be a blast! Over seven thousand feet of teeth rattling fun!! WOO HOOO.

Tomorrow we will leave Cincinnati and head towards Sandusky! Cedar Point here we come!

I decided that since I am on a roller coaster trip that I would include this commercial.

No, it wasn’t filmed at any of the parks I’m going to, but it is still a cool looking ride!

Today we drive from Atlanta to Cincinnati and tomorrow we will be spending at Kings Island!

If you read yesterday, you know that today is the first day of my trip and we are spending the day at Six Flags Over Georgia! Amazingly, this will be my FIRST EVER trip to a Six Flags theme park!

Since I grew up in Orlando, spending summers visiting Busch Gardens, Sea World, Universal Studios and, of course, Disney was the norm, but I know for much of the country Six Flags is their local park. For me, the closest one has always been up near Atlanta and there really wasn’t anything to draw me all the way up there when I had parks so close.

As I told you yesterday, we are driving straight up to the park for park opening!

We will at some point during the afternoon check into our hotel for the night, but first, ROLLER COASTERS!!!

Rides I am looking forward to include:

Batman: The Ride

Goliath

and more of course. SFOG also has a stand-up coaster (remember I HATED Mantis at Cedar Point) and they have an older flyer (remember I LOVE Manta at Sea World). This park should be a fun day of new coasters! Every ride will be a new credit in my book (no I don’t actually keep track of my credits like some enthusiasts).

Tomorrow will be a drive day up to Cincinnati for Kings Island!

Wow! I just realized that I have a TON of blogs to try to write to keep you all interested through my vacation! You may remember last year my family and I drove up to Cedar Point and rode some amazing roller coasters. The decision was made to make a return trip! We have a full week plus two weekends this time, so we are doing it right! Want to relive last year? Check it out here, here, here, here, here and here.

Much like last year I am going to try and have a post for every single day that I am gone (but that may not be easy since I am getting a late start!).

This years trip will have a slightly different look to it, since my brother and father will not be going. The trip has boiled down to be me and my two favorite women in my life, my mom and Jenny Cate. Yup, me and two beautiful women on a roller coaster trip! GO ME!

Tonight (or really early tomorrow morning) we are going to jump in JC’s CR-V and make the drive to Six Flags Over Georgia for our first stop. This will be the toughest day of the trip I believe as we will be driving straight to the park and enjoying the park BEFORE checking into the hotel in the afternoon.

The trip is going to mean lots of roller coaster-ing and lots of driving. Check back tomorrow for a post about SFOG and the rides that I look forward to riding.

My good friend, the keeper of monkeys, pointed me to this news story. Apparently, Kelly Hildebrant met Kelly Hildebrant on Facebook. They met in person and now are getting married!

I understand the cool feeling it is to find people with your same name. I’ve found TWO Joe Omundsons on Facebook. I wouldn’t marry either of them because A.) they are both dudes and B.) they are both married.

I understand that a name like Kelly lends itself to both sexes better than Joseph. But I would SOO also be worried that we are related in some way, ya know?
