On Thursday mom and I spent the day at EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival and we had lunch in France! We ate at the amazing Les Chefs de France. I’m going to start out by saying that the food was amazing. Disney really does food right in these type restaurants. If you stick to the quick service kiosks and tray service you may think Disney food sucks, but if you take the time (and a couple extra dollars) to sit down and eat you’ll be blown away. Quick warning though, these places are pretty much reservation only (especially the popular ones). You can normally get reservations for the day towards the front of the park at Guest Services (under Spaceship Earth to the left at EPCOT and in City Hall at Magic Kingdom).
I had read about it in advance, so we HAD to check out Les Chefs de France’s new Special Guest, REMY!
He is an amazingly small animatronic figure that can interact with the guests (some what):
Warning: Below the next photo I will reveal HOW Remy interacts. If you would like the Disney magic to continue, stop reading!
So how does Remy move and nod and squeak as if he is interacting with you? A very talented/multi-tasking “handler.” Yes Armand is doing it! Notice his right hand, the one holding the lid. His thumb is actually on a small joystick type control built into the lid’s handle. Under the handle are more buttons for Armand to trigger other movements/noises. It is actually pretty amazing. Disney’s Imagineers really know how to make things amazing work seamlessly. If I wasn’t specifically there looking for the control/an operator following nearby I would never have noticed it. Good show Disney!

Fun! Our favorite restaurant is in Canada! We try and eat there a lot…when we go to Epcot! And I agree….Disney knows how to do things right. It continues to amaze me (even after being behind the scenes!). They really have the whole thing figured out!
Le Cellier Steakhouse is another awesome restaurant!
We ate there last time during the food and wine festival and loved it! The prices were very good even for Disney and the service is amazing!
I agree with you on the prices! I was pleasantly surprised since Disney’s site INCORRECTLY says the pricing is between $36 and $59 per person! We had a 3 course Price Fix menu for $20 each
Exactly! It is suprising how many people will not go there because they think the prices are too high. We loved it and got a ton of food!!
ME WANT TO TRY THE FOOD
